The aim of this paper is to deepen students' understanding of key fundamental concepts in organic and inorganic chemistry. We begin with properties of sub-atomic particles, atoms, and atomic structure. We then study moles, equilibrium, bonding, and acids and bases. Students' learning will be supported by a range of experiments and demonstrations.

A variety of assessment methods are used - tests, laboratory reports, tutorial quizzes, and learning activities.

The quizzes are done on random days throughout the available lecture time slots starting in week two and ending in the final week of teaching.

The due date for these assessments may change due to unforeseen circumstances. If dates are changed, they will be confirmed in class and on Moodle closer to respective relevant dates.
